BUT, have you tried putting the Wii-Fit game in the Wii system and bringing up the intro screen of the Wii-Fit game on the t.v. Then, when you try to sync the balance board, it should work. Was that the problem?? Plus... you know you have to press that "sync" button behind the SD card slot on the wii system too, right?? If all else fails... read the instructions and go through the thing "Step by Step".
