Question by g l: How do I get a Wii console from the UK (PAL) to work on a NTSC tv?
Basically got a brand new Wii from England and need it to work on my tv. Set it up as normal however when I select Input on the tv, I can see the Wii menu but it jumps and there is a black area. From searching I found that this is as a result of the difference between PAL and NTSC. How do I fix this without buying a new console?

it would likely be advisable you buy a new wii if you plan to stay in the states. you could hack/softmod it and get pirated content/games (illegal but commonly done). it seems to me, i’ve seen this issue before and brought up in a forum somewhere. while i have my own doubts about it because it makes no sense to me at all, the guy said he tried different cables. you might try that and see where it gets you. hopefully, you know someone with a ntsc wii that will allow you to barrow the cords long enough to try it. good luck.

did you by any chance jizz on the machine? if not, you should consider doing this. i have done this a few times and it DOES work.

When i play super smash brothers brawl online on my wii it goes really slow and is unplayable, why? and is there a way to fix this. i can only play 1 other person online without it being really slow. i am assuming a dodgey internet connection but i want to know the right answer. thank you

The online system for Brawl is different from systems from other online games. Brawl’s system is elementary, and lags consistently.There is no real fix.
